Our Story
Founded in 2008,dotbox is a technology-centric digital marketing company. Our differentiation is our experience and in house portfolio of social eCommerce products and tools that help companies expand their digital footprints to increase user engagements and conversions. Dotbox is led by hard-charging Web veterans that have connected schools and libraries in entire states to the Internet, designed and implemented global Web platforms for multinational brands around the world, and launched Internet 500 companies’ eCommerce initiatives. Dotbox is a proud portfolio company of the MDC Partners network, a publicly traded holding company that utilizes the 50+ companies in its portfolio to drive meaningful returns on marketing and communications investments for multinational clients in the United States, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean for over 1,000 companies.

Thomas Kwon, president
Internet entrepreneur, Tom loves problem solving and getting results for clients. Involved with the Web since its advent, Tom’s experiences range from connecting every school and library in the state of CT to the Internet and establishing the White House’s Web presence to launching over 700 sites and applications for fortune 1000 and Internet Retailer 500 companies. Tom holds two patents under his leadership including the world’s first multilingual CMS platform and enterprise SEO production software. Tom was the finalist for Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2001 and recipient of the “50 Outstanding Asian Americans in Business” Award in 2005. Currently he is a Board member of Business for Diplomatic Action and featured member for Mayor Bloomberg’s Partnership for a New American Economy.
David Porzio, Chief Revenue Officer
David has been creating cost efficiencies across corporate enterprises and revenue generating opportunities for global brands around the world. As the Chief Revenue Officer, David is responsible for the company’s top-line growth, client relations and overall strategy supporting the CEO. He is also the Chief of Staff at MDC (Parent Company to Dotbox), David is responsible for leading MDC's investments in Corporate Venture and Non Strategic M&A transactions. Prior to joining MDC Partners, David was President and Co-Founder of DJP Group LLC, a private real estate firm focused on the purchase, development and monetization of residential real estate. Before co-founding DJP Group LLC, David served as Vice President for J. Christopher Capital, a New York-based venture capital firm which focuses on media, fashion and real estate investments. Preceeding J. Christopher Capital, David was an attorney at Paul Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP.
David Wallace, vice president of finance
With experience in both public accounting and private accounting, as well as co-founding a design agency, David understands what it takes to be successful in the digital marketplace. David applies his expertise in controlling revenue and optimizing cash flow in his position overseeing the financial operations at Dotbox. As VP Finance, he works to help Dotbox realize its potential as a front-runner in social e-commerce.
Paul Tan, Chief Technology Officer
Lead engineer at the core, Paul loves creating innovative solutions for clients. With over 10 years of experience in software architecture, web development, and user interface design, Paul's software is currently used by millions across various industries on the Internet. Paul was the Chief Architect and Lead Developer for a patented building management software that has become an industry standard used by millions of people around the world. Paul has developed eCommerce and CMS platforms from the ground up for Fortune companies and Internet Retailers around the world.
Kevin Small, chief marketing officer
Taking the Marketing helm for DotBox in late 2012, Kevin brings over 20 years of digital and interactive marketing experience. He began his career in sports marketing API Sponsorship (later acquired by IPG ), with a quick rise to the company’s youngest Director of Marketing. While at API, Kevin was part of an award winning sports marketing team that represented US Soccer, 1994 World Cup, Lola Formula-One Racing, The America’s Cup, World Cup of Cricket, The ATP Tennis Tour, and Special Olympics World Games. In 1996, Kevin founded BGA Media, a digital marketing agency, specializing in web development, eCommerce, branding multi-media, video production and interactive strategy. BGA’s clients have included CareerBuilder.com, JetBlue, RocketMail, and The Related Group. From 2003-2009, Kevin served as Director Marketing for Alpha Vision and Executive Director of Posner advertising, working with luxury brands including Related, LXR, Turnberry, RitzCarlton, WCI, Four Seasons, and One & Only Resorts. Today, having coined the term “Digital Quarterback,” Kevin is passionate for all things digital.
